When we toured the model home of our townhouse, one of first things I noticed was a space for a large buffet table in the dining room. I love the look of a classic buffet table, but our townhouse is not our forever home. So instead of investing in an expensive piece of furniture that would be hard to move, we decided a built-in bar area was a better option.
Since our townhouse is a new build, I was able to reach out to the builder and contact the companies that supplied our kitchen cabinets and countertops. We started by sending over the measurements for the space and our vision – one cabinet, a NewAir Fridge, and a cabinet end piece. Here is the design sketch sent over by the cabinet company!
Our cabinets and fridge arrived and were installed in the same week. Here are some before pictures!
Once the cabinets are fridge were installed, the countertop company came out and laser-measured for the quartz counter. It took a few weeks for slab and backsplash to be delivered, but once they were installed, the project was complete!
I love how our dry bar project turned out! It was definitely more planning and work than buying a piece of furniture for the space, but it’s something that we enjoy using and will add equity to our home when we go to sell.
I am really happy that we were able to match our kitchen too. It’s the exact cabinets and counter. However, the best part is our addition of the NewAir French Door Wine and Beverage Fridge. Here is a closer look!
The dual sides give us enough room to hold 60 cans and 20 bottles of wine and can be separately temperature-controlled for optimum storage of beverages. I also love the sleek design of the beech wood shelves and the blue LED lights.
The last feature that sold me on this fridge is the lock and key. With a new baby that will soon be crawling and walking, this gives me peace of mind that everything is safely stored.
Thank you NewAir for sending us this awesome fridge!
